What I learned from attending a marketing seminar for local business.I recently attended a seminar for local marketing. When my schedule permits, I make time to attend these events. Anything I can do to hone my skill set I do. I love to learn!
I attended knowing these guys were just trying to up sell me, yet I wanted to know what knowledge they were willing to share about the advertising marketing industry. Most of the information was relevant. I mean they are "experts" of the industry! So here goes: 1. Make sure you have an email link on your website! I agree 100%! If your potential client can not reach you! They will move on in this fast paced world! 2. Make sure you have a mobile friendly website! I go over this here! This is so important! I can't reiterate this enough! 3. Offer a unique selling proposition. This is a no-brainer! Customers like feeling like they are getting a good deal! 4. Customer service is key! If you don't have a friendly phone person, it can be detrimental to your business. A rude person can break your business, leave a bad review. Tell all their friends about their bad experience! It's like a horrible domino effect! *If you have had this happen to your business, and have weeded out the "bad apples." There is a strategy to fix these negative reviews against your business. We can set up an appointment to come up a strategy that best works for your business. Give me a call, or if it's easier shoot me an email! I was baffled to hear this person suggest only using one avenue of advertising! I found this method completely crazy, but again in their defense this media company was only wanting you to choose them for advertising. So, as I sat there feeling uneasy because the information these business owners were being told was completely one-sided! Only choosing one avenue of advertising is a huge risk! When you have a marketing budget, and you spend money, do you see results from your advertisement campaign? Sadly, most of the time, you do not see the results. Learning how to set up and track your marketing plan can seem overwhelming! Some business owners would rather pay a big media company to handle it all which can be fine, unfortunately you're just another number paying them for services they may or may not do. Set up an appointment with me, we can talk and see what strategies could work best for your business. Then, we can begin to gather data on what works and does not work by tracking each avenue. Every business is different, and I believe having multiple avenues that can be tracked is one of the many keys to success!
