It's wild to think I've been doing this since 2015 for 8 years!

I have designed so many websites and sold them to businesses. It's been a good model, but technology evolves and the barrier of entry changes. It's easier now, more than ever to create your own website with no HTML or coding experience. It's great for the budding small business owner! I love working with so many different businesses!

What I've learned over the past 8 years is: I know what I love about this work, and what I absolutely would go back and outsource. You're not going to love every aspect of your business and that's alright!

So, I have decided to pivot and niche down a little bit. Digital Marketing has become over-saturated! There are plenty of free resources, if you have the time to sit down and learn the skills it takes. Some of us had all the time in the world when the good ole C word came along! That's when my digital marketing business began to suffer, but what didn't suffer at first was my promotional business! Along with my eBay business, we were still able to thrive during the beginnings of the pandemic.

But, because I didn't have kids in school anymore, I had to become a full time teacher and still run my other businesses!
I must say the pandemic was the best/worst thing that ever happened to my family!

I was able to connect with my oldest one and hear what kind of strife he was going through at school.
I was horrified, obviously, he's my first born, and he is telling me they can't wash their hands before lunch.
Remind you, this is pre-pandemic! A little hand sanitizer will be just fine!
I was horrified! That does not clean a little boy's hands!
And I'll chime in on what he said, "and the smell, how am I supposed to eat my lunch with that smell on my hands?"
Bless his heart! So glad we're not dealing with that craziness anymore!

I began learning about local business lead generation in 2015.  Each individual business owner I've ever encountered has a unique set of knowledge based on their profession.

This is what makes business owners unique professionals! They have a particular set of skills that most people do not.

This also means that sometimes they have a unique set of problems of why they are not booking clients. If I'm making your phone ring with potential clients, and you're screening your calls. You're losing business! And yes, that's a true story! You can't make this stuff up!

Many people in this "digital marketing space" claim to be able to rank your website or guarantee you a position on page one of the google search engine. Psst...being number one does NOT matter as long as your phone is still ringing with clients. There I said it!

They say, "Well, so and so can do that!" Unfortunately, a lot of people claim they can do what I do.

The one thing I can guarantee is we can track each avenue and really begin to dig deep and understand where to invest your money or not invest your money.

We can track most marketing plans and show if you have any return on your investment.

The bottom line is, you don't want to keep throwing money down a black hole if your marketing is not working! No one likes to be wasteful! You're losing dollars and not making sense! You like that?! Okay, so pun intended! You were warned; I told you. I am a bit of a nerd!

There are many different facets to the process of what I do! The front runner of them all is creative content!

You own your own content (make sure you read those terms of service)! Everything you do to represent your business should be yours! It should not be copied! Plagiarism is a big deal! DO NOT DO IT!

I also would not recommend AI to write your content! This is going to become problematic. We are already seeing it being played out in other industries. Just use that noggin that God gave you, & write your own!

It's much easier to just write it yourself, or hire someone you trust to write it, but do not copy! The search engines know who put it out there first.

You always want to stay up to date on your social media pages too! This is an entire job in itself, unless you have it completely streamlined!

It's very time consuming to keep up on social media personally and professionally! I don't like to admit it, but I have neglected my own social media pages personal and professional because I put my clients first!

Carving out time as you would do for email is one strategy you could use for your social media pages. There are several different ways to go about doing this! Let's figure out together what works best for you!

Each individual business is different. Every new client I meet has, and requires a different plan of action. There is no one secret formula for marketing your business. Each individual business requires a different plan of action, and presents with a different set of challenges.
